Jose Navarro trained in Arts Education, leads workshops specialising in Mime, Puppetry, and the traditional ‘Peruvian Scissors Dance’.

His tutoring includes performance, demonstrations and practical activities with participants, aiming to achieve a small showcase. 

Jose as a freelance artist has taken part in voluntary schemes, running art workshops to engage children and adults of all cultural origins in artistic and creative activities in the UK and abroad. Since 2006 leads ‘Puppet and Mime’ projects for STEP - Southwark Theatres’ Education Partnership. He facilitates workshops for Wise Moves Dance Ltd at schools throughout the UK. In 2010 at Most Mira Youth Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in 2009 led puppet and mime masterclass for drama students in Tunisia, in 2004 at the Big Arts Week UK, in 2003 managed a mime project for the Peabody Trust and the Millennium Awards.


The workshops are available on request for individuals, groups, schools (both primary and secondary), colleges, universities in the UK and abroad. The programmes can be given in halls, gyms, dance studios, community centres, theatres, open and alternative spaces.


There are a variety of flexible programmes available. Single session, half & full day workshops that provide all the participants with an introduction to the chosen art form, with the possibility of a short showcase at the end. Extended programmes and residences, providing an opportunity for further development of basic skills, with the possibility of a public performance.


Depending on the nature of the course, audio equipment and of course an appropriate space.
